About Saugerties

One of the top ten “coolest” small towns in America.

Saugerties has character, lots of character. A charming Hudson Valley village just off of Exit 20 on the NYS Thruway, it attracts visitors of all ages. Some like it so much, they move or buy a second home here.

Saugerties Lighthouse

There is a bustling main street, great for antiquing, lots of shops and fine restaurants. Saugerties offers views of both the mountains and “the river,” a really neat lighthouse, a waterfront park, proximity to the ski slopes in winter, and boating on the Hudson and on the Esopus Creek in spring, summer and fall.

Then, there’s the festivals: a garlic festival in September and a mum festival in October.

In summer, there’s the Farmers’ Market and even horse shows that draw thousands of people to the area. To learn more about “friendly Saugerties” (as entrance signs proclaim),  please visit about Saugerties.
